Welcome to the Can-Do Kindergarten website!

We call ourselves the “Can-Do Kindergarteners” because I want each of the members of our classroom community to have a positive attitude and a good self image. Negative attitudes are not tolerated in our class; the word “can’t” is not part of our vocabulary. I am a firm believer in the quote by Mary Kay Ash,
“If you think you can, you can.
And if you think you can't, you're right.”

Here is a special poem for the Can-Do parents!

I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there.
The clay they used was a child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.

One was a teacher – the tools he used
Were books, music, and art.
The other, a parent, worked with a guiding hand,
And a gentle heart.

Day after day, the teacher toiled with torch
That was careful, deft, and sure,
While the parent labored by his side
And polished and smoothed it o’er.

And when at last their task was done
They were proud of what they wrought.
For the things they had molded into the child
Could neither be sold nor bought.

And each agreed they would have failed
If each had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school
And behind the teacher, the home.
